DESCRIPTION:Event Description:\nThe class meets every week beginning on Wed
 nesday\, April 15 - May 20\, from 5:45 - 7:00 pm. (April 15\, 22\, 29 & May
  6\, 13\, 20)\nEvent Cost:\n$50/per person (for 6 classes) - limited to 15 
 participants\nClass Objective:\nThe participants will learn the manual alph
 abet\, numbers\, WH-Questions\, 100 basic signs (from ASL University and AS
 L That!)\, basic conversation words and phrases (from Meredith ASL)\, and D
 eaf Culture. This basic ASL class is not designed to certify those who are 
 interested in becoming interpreters.\nNo Voice Policy:\nThe participants wi
 ll learn ASL more quickly and effectively. Good language learning requires 
 active learning. Full immersion helps develop better receptive and expressi
 ve skills. The participants will find that struggling to put all their thou
 ghts into ASL for these one hour and fifteen minutes in class will have a m
 arked effect on their communicative fluency. Full participation is expected
