Kassidee Quaranta is the sole force behind KQ Designs (2019). As a proud graduate of KU, (BFA Illustration & Animation) she has made her presence known as an illustrator and storyteller in the Lawrence and Kansas City areas. Her work appears in magazines, advertising, children’s books and animation, with most revolving around mental health and personal growth, with an aim to uplift and inspire. When it comes to her creations, she focuses on using cut paper to create dimensional pieces that implore you to look a little closer. It is a medium that provokes thought and provides a beautiful outlet to make her one-of-a-kind creations. Each piece is a true extension of her experiences as an artist with multiple disabilities, giving each project its own personality and voice, and is designed to invite you into a world of whimsy and curiosity. She hopes you’ll come along for the adventure.
Having constraints due to my disabilities has created a challenge for participating in showcases. To be included in Expressions again would give me an opportunity I have missed dearly and would help me to get back into the world of in-person gallery shows. With COVID-19 impacting the world, I have found myself unable to leave my home (with the exception of necessities) because of my compromised immune system.
