FAQ

Questions about the Gala?

Here are some FAQ's that are helpful:

Q: What is creative black tie?  A:  We are defining it as relaxed formal with your own flair!  “Creative black tie” is the dress code that allows you to have fun. Men, for instance, should feel free to wear a black shirt or a red bow tie—something other than the traditional suit. Women are similarly encouraged to take their look less seriously. Think of creative black tie as trendy black tie.

Q: Where should we park? A:  Union Station has multiple places to park for the event. There will be limited parking in the front of the building. The West Yards Parking Garage is a four-level parking garage. It has accessible parking and electric vehicle charging stations. The garage is located on the west side of Union Station, also accessible via Broadway Street. When you arrive, the machines in the garage may ask you to take a ticket, but at the end of the night the gates will be open. There is no overnight parking at Union Station.

Underwriting and Advocate Sponsorship parking will be located in reserved spaces in the front parking lot of Union Station. You will need to have your parking pass inside of your vehicle.

Q: What payment options are available for individual tickets?  A:  We ask that you pay for tickets in advance through our website.

Q:  Can I sit by my friends who are also going to the Gala?  A:  Please write the names of your friends in the "additional details" section BEFORE you check out with your ticket purchase.  We will make every effort to sit you together if possible. 

Q:  What is the Table Captain program?  A:  A Table Captain fills a table of 10, creating their own guest list and spending an inspirational evening surrounded with friends and family. This is a great way to support the Gala and sit with your selected friends and family. Learn more here.

Q:  I am Deaf, will there be interpreters on-site?  A:  YES!  We will have interpreters on stage all evening.  A video projection of the interpreters will be on-screen as well.  Interpreters will be on-site in the venue. Please indicate this so we can accommodate you in the "additional details" section BEFORE you check out with your ticket purchase.

Q:  Are you offering dietary accommodations?  A:  Yes!  When you purchase your tickets, please indicate if you would like a gluten-free or vegetarian meal in the "additional details" section BEFORE you check out with your ticket purchase.

Q:  How do I pay at the event for the balloon pop, Fund-a-Need and live auction and silent auction items?  A:  We can accept cash, check or credit card on-site at the event for any purchases.  A receipt can be emailed to you after the event for cash/check purchases, and by text or email for credit card purchases through our mobile payment app.

Q:  Is there a bar at the event?  A:  Yes, we will have a cash bar at the venue.
