Centers for Independent Living

Centers for Independent Living are community-based, cross-disability, non-profit organizations that are designed and operated by people with disabilities. CILs are unique in that they operate according to a strict philosophy of consumer control, wherein people with all types of disabilities directly govern and staff the organization. Centers for Independent Living Provide:

  1. Peer Support
  2. Information and Referral
  3. Individual and Systems Advocacy
  4. Independent Living Skills Training
  5. Transition

America is home to:

  • 403 Centers for Independent Living (CILs)
  • 330 branch offices
  • 56 Statewide Independent Living Councils (SILCs)

The Whole Person services the following counties:
Missouri: Cass, Clay, Platte and Jackson
Kansas:  Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Johnson

Missouri Centers for Independent Living is the original state-certified and leading trusted resource for personal attendant services such as Consumer Directed Services.
