Basic ASL Class for Children/Youth (Ages 5 - 18)

Class Dates: Tuesdays from 1-1:45 pm - June 4, 11, 18, 25
Location: The Whole Person, 3710 Main Street, KCMO; Community Room
Class Size:  Limited to 10 students
Class Cost:  $20 per student
 **Guardian/Parents’ presence are required at each class

Each student attending must register, even if you are in the same family.

About the Junior ASL Class

Class Objective:  Children/Youth will learn at least 100 basic signs.

ASL Materials:  The instructor will use those materials and videos in the classroom.  “Sign Language:  My First 100 Words” from Scholastic can be purchased from Amazon (not required).  The class will be taught through American Sign Language and PowerPoint Presentation.  Hand-outs will be provided in each class session.   
  
No Voice Policy:  A “No Voice Policy” allows Children/Youth to learn ASL more quickly and effectively. Good language learning requires active learning. Full immersion helps develop better receptive and expressive skills.

Location: The Whole Person, 3710 Main Street, KCMO: Community Room
Class Size: Limited to 10 (one adult per child)
Class Cost: $20 per student **Guardian / Parents’ presence are required at each class. **

> No refunds will be issued if students cannot attend the class upon registration or discontinues/misses a class during the 4-week session.
