About Us

Accessible Resource Room

Our Resource Room features a variety of accessible devices, adaptive equipment, software, and supplies.

About the Space

With support from a UPS Foundation grant, we created a Community Resource Room at our Missouri office, offering adaptive devices, equipment, and software. These tools empower individuals to achieve employment and independence and are available to the public, meeting the diverse needs of various disabilities.

Available Resources

NVDA Screen Reader

The NVDA Screen Reader provides intuitive, assistive software for visually impaired users, enabling accessibility for tasks like web browsing, spreadsheets, and emails. It vocalizes content at the mouse cursor’s location, offering an auditory interface for seamless computer interaction and empowering users to navigate digital activities with ease.

Magnifier

The Windows Magnifier is essential for low-vision users, enlarging on-screen content like text and images for easier readability. Seamlessly integrated, it supports tasks like working, communicating, and browsing, enhancing accessibility and confidence in digital interactions.

Speech Recognition

Speech Recognition software enables hands-free computer control through voice commands. Users can open applications, compose emails, or browse the web by speaking, eliminating the need for manual input. This tool enhances accessibility for individuals with physical disabilities and provides a convenient, user-friendly interface for all.

Merlin Enhanced Vision CCTV

The Merlin CCTV is assistive technology for individuals with visual impairments, offering: High zoom for documents, photos, and more, adjustable height and document placement, and customizable color, brightness, and anti-glare settings for improved image quality.

Sorenson Video Phone

The Sorenson Video Phone enables seamless communication for deaf and hard of hearing individuals by translating sign language into speech and vice versa. It promotes inclusivity in telecommunications, ensuring equitable communication for all.

Large Print Keyboards

The Large Print Keyboard, with bold, high-contrast fonts, helps low-vision users navigate tasks more comfortably by enhancing clarity and legibility, empowering confident and efficient computer use.

Ergonomic Keyboards

The ergonomic keyboard enhances comfort and reduces strain by separating into two adjustable halves, allowing users to customize distance and angle for a flexible, mobility-friendly typing experience, particularly for those with limited mobility in their arms and wrists.

Trackball Mouse

The trackball mouse offers ergonomic accessibility by remaining stationary while users control the cursor with a rolling ball, providing comfort and ease for those with mobility impairments or carpal tunnel syndrome.

Microsoft Office Programs

Microsoft Office can be accessed for free! This is the online version only, containing slightly fewer features than the program version. If you need to use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc., we have you covered!
