Personal Care Attendant (PCA) Training
Kansas City is facing a growing need for in-home care as our community ages and more people with disabilities choose to live independently.
The Whole Person is training PCAs to support individuals in their homes and communities through our Consumer Directed Services and In-Home Care programs.
About the Training & Registration
We are looking for 10 students who would like to learn how to become a PCA.
Our training is held at The Whole Person, and each student receives a $900 stipend. Please RSVP for the PCA training by filling in the form below. If you have additional questions, please contact Robert Honan at rhonan@thewholeperson.org

4-Week Training Schedule:
It is a 4-week class at The Whole Person. All participants need to attend all sessions. The full schedule is listed below.
- Time: 9:00am – 1:00pm daily
- Dates:
- April 6-10
- April 13-16
- April 20-23
- April 27-30
Basic Requirements to Register for Training:
- 18 years or older
- Missouri resident living in Jackson, Clay, Cass, Ray, or Platte county
- Pass a background check
- Provide proof of citizenship
- No prior experience required
Training & Certifications
Through grant-funded programming, eligible PCAs may receive:
- CPR & AED Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Information Technology training
- PCA Training Certificate from The Whole Person
What PCAs Do:
PCAs assist with everyday activities, including:
- Dressing and bathing
- Cooking and light cleaning
- Errands and community activities
- Supporting independence at home
