Trainings & Workshops Organizer
ASL Classes:
Learning to visually communicate using ASL may help resolve communication barriers and aid in building a relationship with people living with a disability. The mission of this class is to teach participants to be able to communicate in ASL at a basic level while learning key aspects of Deaf Culture. Learn more about our Trainings and Workshops.
Sipping and Signing:
Join us for Sipping and Signing, a welcoming event held at various coffee shops across the Kansas City Metro! Whether you’re Deaf, Hard of Hearing, a Late Deafened Adult, an ASL student, or a family with d/hh or nonverbal children, we’d love to share a cup of coffee and sign with you! Michele ‘Micki’ Keck, a fourth-generation Deaf individual, was raised in a mixed Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing family in Kansas City, MO.
She attended the Kansas School for the Deaf, Gallaudet University, and McDaniel College. With over 25 years of experience teaching ASL and Deaf Studies, Micki now serves as an Independent Living Advocate–Deaf Services at The Whole Person.
