As 2025 comes to a close, we want to celebrate what we’ve accomplished together in the Kansas City metro. For over 45 years, The Whole Person has been a voice of empowerment and advocacy for people with disabilities—and this year has been truly significant.
A Year of Transformation and Growth
2025 marked a major milestone for our organization with the launch of our refreshed brand and redesigned website. Our new visual identity, featuring vibrant, meaningful colors, and an enhanced digital presence, better represents the depth and impact of our work.
The updated website is more user-friendly, accessible, and powerful, allowing us to serve our community more effectively. Since the launch, we’ve seen significant growth in community engagement.
While our look has changed, our mission remains the same: providing resources, advocacy, and connections that help people with disabilities live independently and make their own choices. This rebrand signals renewed energy as we enter an exciting new chapter of service to Kansas City.
What You Made Possible in 2025

Thanks to your support, The Whole Person achieved remarkable results this year:
- 174 dedicated volunteers contributed 108 hours of service
- Served 382 new consumers through our Center for Independent Living programs across Kansas and Missouri
- Supported 1,600 total consumers throughout the year
- Continued as a primary contractor for Show Me Home, helping people transition out of nursing homes and into independent living, managing four subcontractors to make these transitions possible
- Secured another vehicle through the 5310 federal program, expanding our transportation services
- Improved truncated domes across the KC metro for better accessibility for people with blindness or low vision
- Collaborated with a Missouri senator to re-propose the Communication Access Services (CAS) bill, supporting Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard-of-hearing Missourians
Your Continued Partnership is Essential
While we celebrate these accomplishments, the need for our services continues to grow. Hundreds of individuals with disabilities rely on The Whole Person to live independently, access vital resources, and exercise their right to full participation in the community.
Your donation directly funds programs that empower individuals to thrive. Every gift—$25, $50, $100, or more—helps us continue advocating for positive change and creating a more inclusive Kansas City metro.
Support Independent Living
At The Whole Person, we are dedicated to ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to opportunities, resources, and respect. Together, we create real change: more accessible spaces, better opportunities, and a KC metro where everyone belongs.
As 2025 comes to a close, we invite you to make a tax-deductible contribution to carry our mission forward into 2026 and beyond.
Thank you for standing with The Whole Person and the individuals we serve. Your support makes independence possible.
