300+ volunteers help TWP clean up yards at the homes of people with disabilities each year.
Planting Independence
The success of our Planting Independence yard clean-up program has created new needs for us. We are getting more and more volunteers that don’t have their own tools. We are trying to grow our resources to make sure future events have everything we need. We welcome donations to support this yearly program as well as these in-kind donations:
- Gardening gloves
- Loppers
- Rakes
- Gardening shears
- Shovels
- Brooms
- Dustpans
Other In-Kind Items
- Travel-size toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, first aid kits, hand sanitizer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, bandages, antibiotic ointment, lip balm, antacids, and nail clippers. Cold weather items: socks, hairbrushes/combs, knit hats, gloves, hand warmers, and washcloths (These will be packaged and given to Veterans at the Heart of America Stand Down events)
- Gift cards (gas, grocery, WalMart, Target, Panera, etc.)
- Items or services that could be auctioned in fundraisers
- Digital camera (10 pixels or more)
