Performance Artist Application

Deadline to apply is February 9, 2018.

Before beginning this application, please refer to the Artist Application Worksheet found on the Call for Artists page and use as a guide to prepare in advance the information you will be required to submit. All information must be entered into the online application at one time. Incomplete application information may exclude your consideration.

Submitting an application means you have read and agree to the terms and conditions as outlined in the Artist's Agreement and Waiver for The Whole Person's 2018 Expressions Art Exhibition found on the Call for Artists page on this website.

Links to audio or video of your performance

Performing artists are asked to provide a URL link to an video or audio recording of their performance.  We recommend uploading an audio or video file to YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. You may upload ONE audio/video file IF the file is under 2 MB in size.

If you do not have access to produce a recording, you may arrange to demonstrate your performance piece at The Whole Person during business hours.  Such arrangements must be made within 72 hours of the submission of your application.  Please contact us at expressions@thewholeperson.org.

Preference is given to performance/audio videos uploaded in the last year.

Artist Statements

Please provide an artist statement. An artist statement includes:

1.     A general introduction to your work, a body of work, or a specific project.

2.     It should open with the work’s basic ideas in an overview of two or three sentences or a short paragraph.

3.     The second paragraph should go into detail about how these issues or ideas are presented in the work.

4.     The final paragraph should restate the most important points in the statement.

There is no right or wrong way to prepare an artist statement. The statement will simply provide insight to the selection committee to make more informed decision about their selection of artists for the Exhibition.

I attest that the pieces of art I am submitting are my own original creations and are not the intellectual property of any other individual or group. I authorize The Whole Person and its partners to use images of my artwork (or audio/video for performance artists) solely for the purpose of promoting/marketing the Expressions Art Exhibition, unless I grant permission for other uses. I have read and agree to the terms of the Artist Waiver and Release as found on the Expressions Call for Artist page on this website.
